Shoes: The Designer Influence

February 1, 2009 by Kristin · Leave a Comment

Even though I definitely don’t have the cash flow to buy designers like Christian Louboutin (and I’m not Oprah), I still like to stay in the loop. It’s not that I want to know who is wearing what, it’s that big house designers have a trickle-down effect on the rest of the market. You all saw The Devil Wears Prada, right? Meryl Streep’s character gives Anne Hathaway a big lesson when she teaches her just why she chose to buy that blue sweater. If you can’t afford to buy them, then find the next best thing and look just as sharp!

Brand: Christian Louboutin

Price: $865

These Louboutin T-straps are black patent with a hint of silver. They’d be great with a pencil skirt or slacks.

A slightly different version of the T-strap above, this sling back is just as cute and versatile.

Snake skin prints are always en vogue in my book. These are quite sexy.

Are we seeing a pattern yet? Block heels are definitely hot right now. Not sure how comfortable these are, but Nine West’s new arrivals are worth a trip to the store. I would wear these with a simple blush pink dress. If the clothes are loud, go for the opposite with shoes. And vice versa.

February’s Bazaar magazine had these in the spread “Chic Easy Pieces” (p.143). They really excite me! I love these so much that I want to eat them. This soft pink can be paired with so many combinations. I would follow Bazaar’s advice and try really bold colors on top.
