Racecar Apparel @ Williamsburg Fashion Weekend

Dear Male Readers,

I apologize for not doing a post on men’s fashion sooner.  This past Friday night I was in Williamsburg for their Fashion Weekend at the Glasslands Gallery, and I found the perfect inspiration.  I didn’t expect to see some very practical and über stylish pieces for men.  Nettie Tiso, one of the four featured designers that evening, has two lines:  Racecar! for “helpless boys”, and Nettie for women.

If you haven’t noticed by now, flannel plaid is in style again- just try not to look like a lumberjack when you wear it, though.  I really appreciate that she layered it with a slick vest- this one happens to be reversible!

I am a sucker for suspenders, and the detail on these pants is just discreet enough.

Mixing different denims and patterns is a good idea guys, it doesn’t scream 1993 as much.

Though I’m still not sure how I feel about knee-high boots with pants tucked in for men (well, that’s not entirely true- last week I saw a beautiful man at Aspen walk quite confidently in them and it sort of made me swoon a bit), I do know that it certainly takes a lot of attitude and confidence to pull them off.  Women like it when you know how to accessorize, so throwing on a tie with an unsuspecting outfit can be fetching!
